In late March we moved into our caravan.
Ready for our next adventure of simple living, together again, while we build our house.
I was so excited.
I thought the kids would love it.
Whilst my husband and I really value living small, and I really love tiny houses, our two little ones aren’t adjusting so well. Our son has been openly expressing his dislike for living in the caravan, asking when we can move out, and our daughter is really struggling with the change. This has created a big challenge for us as we navigate transitioning into the caravan, starting new jobs, and moving back to an area we’ve been away from for years.
With family harmony being our biggest priority, and two very unsettled babes, we are exploring our options of what home will be until our place is ready for us to move into.
Because that’s what life is all about, right?
Trial and error.
Figuring things out as you go.
Especially when there are 4 people to consider.
Pivoting has been what our life has revolved around the last 3 years.
Pivoting, whilst holding our ultimate vision of life and home close to our hearts.
In light of this being our home reality right now, I thought it would be special to document place as this months Romanticising Home Life topic.
We might be in our caravan for 1 month, maybe a lot longer, or perhaps it will be just a few weeks.
But right now it’s our home, and I want to capture this to remember as home.
Thanks for reading!
Romanticising Home life is a monthly creative series where I share a prompt in the Substack chat for you to join in, too. It’s all about getting creative and beautifying your mundane.
I was watching the light dance on the wall of my sons playroom this afternoon & it made me think of you ✨ I love this months intention & would love to follow along. We bought a house in January, not our forever house at all but while we’re here I want to make it a home & be truly grateful in my heart for this home so that when we leave to move onto our land I can say I made it a nest for our family while we’re here 🌾
